“I want to share with you how accommodating your team has been to our rigid schedule. They have worked late hours and put off scheduled time off to get the system ready for a February release to the sales team.”

Digital Sabre Development Process: Engineering and Implementation
A Continuing Look at Digital Sabre Development Process
To clearly illustrate the systematic process that sets Digital Sabre apart from the competition, this newsletter and the next edition will continue to focus on project development as it pertains to an actual client, Colleton Software.
Build: Engineering the Application
Last month, we introduced Colleton Software and started the development process off by building an in-depth situation analysis and presenting a comprehensive plan of implementation (System Requirements Specification, or SRS). The SRS covers all the features and functionality of the application. Now that every single minute detail is documented to client specification and approved, the team at Digital Sabre is ready to move forward with the actual development of the application.
Currently, we are in the process of going through the screen layouts for a first release of the application on January 10th. The screenshots are designed to be user friendly with the necessary fields on each screen. After these screens are approved, the developers start integrating the database with the approved screens for implementation. This next phase focuses on testing and releasing the first release of the project, and the application development phase of this project is in full swing! We will work with an incremental approach have 2-week release cycles until the application is completed and available for user testing.
Next month, we’ll describe the ongoing process of application development, discuss our iterative approach with release cycles, and show the role that CMMi and Lean Software Development play in our overall processes. |

A Heartfelt Thank You for an Impressive End to 2009!
This year has proved to be a challenge for all of us. But throughout 2009, Digital Sabre was able to maintain consistent sales with a majority of our projects lasting six months or less. An impressive accomplishment in any economic climate. So, we at Digital Sabre Solutions would like to offer a sincere thank you to all of our customers and prospective clients who helped make this happen.
Highlights from 2009 include: repeat customers comprised 80% of revenue for Digital Sabre, 70% of all proposals submitted were accepted and 79% of prospects searching for DSS on the Internet became a customer. We’re also extremely pleased and fortunate to report that Digital Sabre gained 28 new customers in the past year alone, bringing our client roster to almost 65 in total.
It has been a true privilege working with each and every one of you, getting to know more about your business while aiding progress and improving position. After all, building solid relationships is the foundation of our business and we could not have had the year we had without you! Wishing everyone a Joyous Holiday Season, and h ere’s to another even more productive and prosperous New Year! |
